The AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust

Created by Trust Deed in April 1997, the AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust provides financial assistance to help improve the learning and teaching of science in the UK. Our objective is to help improve in Britain the education of children and young people in science.

Funded by the AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust, the site reports on exciting developments, provides excellent resources for Continuing Professional Development and offers a growing range of lesson and planning resources.

To date the AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust has funded 37 innovative projects focused on enhancing the teaching of science in primary schools. 12 new projects have just received funding - this includes new Key Stage 3 projects.

This year's funding applications have now been completed. Any new information about future funding will be placed on this site when it is available.

Professor Hugh Lawlor is the Director of the Trust and is responsible for its executive management. Mrs Jean Smith is the Administrator of the Trust and Dr Peter Doyle is our patron. The Trust is funded by AstraZeneca PLC.
