Trust Projects
Wakefield LEA (Cluster Project)
Sixteen primary schools selected are involved in the programme under the auspices of the Wakefield LEA.
Programme
Bretton Hall (BH) will provide the training for these schools:
- where science is a key issue in post-OFSTED action plans
- with high social deprivation (EAZ)
- committed to raising attainment in primary science.
The programme will be provided by Bretton Hall which developed a model for in-service training in primary science funded by the AZSTT. The programme will focus on conceptual and procedural understanding in science, formative and summative assessment, leadership skills for the subject leader and working with industry. It is expected that the project will establish a team of Leading Science Teachers which will support science in-service training in schools outside the cluster.
