Displays should be used to support science teaching.

Science displays should:

  • be colourful and exciting;
  • be interactive – with activities for children to do;

Consider what other characteristics they might have? For example, should science displays:

  • offer interactivity;
  • promote process skills;
  • create opportunities to promote children's questions;
  • incorporate the use of ICT;
  • help develop a science topic;
  • be a window to the science in your school;
  • provide a snapshot of the nature of science in a school;
  • provide a classroom teaching and learning tool;
  • show progression throughout the school;
  • offer a focal point for learning;
  • be used as areas that house self - managed activities;
  • contain science rules;
  • provide a spring board for developing further ideas;
